Hi Jerry,

Thank you for the support and kind words. I think the load issue wrt to stats is fairly miniscule, but we are open to working to manage this too.

Thanks again.

Matt - thanks for the support! I really appreciate it and I'm hopeful that we'll get through before too long. (Sorry for the delay in replying to this - comment system screwups.)

As others have said, I think it is more a matter of server load than
security at this point. I hope you can work things out, soon.
Thank you Rahul, for your dedication and courtesy here.

This is a valid concern and we really do wish there were other ways to get at your stats. If the sites were to provide alternate access mechanisms and APIs, we would use them immediately. In general, we hate asking for credentials but it is the only way to deliver the service that we offer.

Our approach is fairly common in other industries - millions of users put their bank/credit card logins into sites like mint.com and yodlee.com. I think that ultimately, it's not really about who is a '3rd party' or who isn't, but rather it's about who you trust. And trust takes time to earn. Having said that, we really appreciate your trust and support - it means a lot to us and we take our responsibility to keep your data secure and private very seriously indeed.

I have to admit, the giving away of username and password to a third party was my, and still is, my biggest concern.
Tailored API feeds seem a better way forward. I'd be happy to remove my account details if another way of stock site access could be granted here at lookstat.
